The Poetry Center of Chicago
The Poetry Center was founded in 1973 by Paul Carroll and a team of Chicago poets who saw the need for a Chicago literary center that would nurture and expand the audience for poetry. Over the past 30 years, the Center has presented many of the world's best-known poets as well as some prominent novelists, including Nobel Prize winners, U.S. Poet Laureates, and MacArthur Genius Awards recipients.
